He was in his 36th year of raising purebred Angus cows which are quite popular in Alberta. This area has many Scottish immigrant descendants. It was a tough country to begin with and only the tough Scots survived it.

Your blog is quite interesting to me. I heard my dad talk about the old Roman roads in Wales. It was interesting to travel with you on one. I'll be stopping by now and then to see a place close to the old country.BridgeEttahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03255992978570453855noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4829847973565207954.post-27286714205025182702010-09-25T11:45:43.780+02:002010-09-25T11:45:43.780+02:00Thanks Valance! I do understand about the riding. I do need a kick up the bum some days, especially now it's windy and wet, but I am learning just to put on a waterproof and get on with it - I'm always as high as a kite when we get back. Sorry about the camera, I'd be devastated if anything happened to mine.Autumn Misthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13970884029498352422noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4829847973565207954.post-47416177961254437252010-09-19T17:18:30.745+02:002010-09-19T17:18:30.745+02:00Riding is good for the soul. I'm envious of you. I can't wait to get back in the saddle again, literally!

Though as kids, we were more likely just to jump on board bareback with just a bridle and rope for reins.
