A Trip Out!

Got away for a few hours today!!   Had time for a ride out at Dunscore, a small village in Galloway.  I met Lynne and her friend at Lynne`s new steading. Great place, loads of room for horses, so will get some pics of that another time.

A small hack along really minor roads, no traffic whatsoever! The temps were up in the 60`s! Unheard of this time of year, better make the most of it! This is probably our summer!  Rode up into the forest, easy stuff, and have to be honest, just good to chill out!

Eunice, and Tara on the left, Lynne and Craig on the right! Tara is a horse!

Not the sharpest of shots! Just as I took it, a Forwarder appeared out of the trees! (Log monster!)

Anyway, it was very pleasant!

  3. Ooh, glad you escaped the sheep for a couple hours! I can't believe that first pic is a road that cars drive on. I don't think my (small!) truck would even fit both wheels on the pavement at once!

  5. Bet it felt good to get out and ride- we are in rain for the week, not so much fun for riding.

  6. Hi Funder!, I had to laugh, no that "road" is an Unclassified road, that is, for access only. Mainly to farms and to the head of the valley!

Hi OOTP! His full name, and he is a true Welshy! Is Brockelton Craig!

Shirley? it was wonderful! All the cob webs blown away! Sorry to hear about the rain!

  9. Love that first picture - makes me want to go down that road and see what's around that corner (prefer driving horses to riding though - so I'd be able to carry the picnic)

    1. It can be! Right now, after temps in the 70`s, we are expecting snow tonight! About 8 inches. But we`ll see what falls.

  11. Lovely place to chill out. Really great...hope it's not the only summer you get!

I've my chill times, of late also. Isn't it nice....vastly quiet and only hoof beats to hear!
When that happens..no matter the weather, as long as you hear the rhythmic beats of your steeds hooves.
