Non Horsey!

So she did good!…………..Good ol` Queenie, droppin` into the stadium like that?  Fantastic! Especially for an 85 year old!  Go on! Bet you thought she did it? Didnt you?………….No? Ok!

No, clever stunt work and filming did the rest, but it was good of her to partake in the opening film. Apart from that, well what can I say, its the Olympics, another extravaganza. And this is purely a personal view, I do think the money could have been better spent. After  all, we are  in a bit of a pickle, and we could do with the cash!

But what the hell, lets blow a load of dosh and sit back and go down the plughole!  There, thats my own personal view.

But I do like to see the athletes do there stuff! Isnt that a contradiction? ………..I watched some of it, that is, the opening ceremony.  I did think that it was very well done, Danny Boyle and his crew did good!  Loved the History lesson.Lol!!  But I suppose this is our staging of the Olympics, and we do have some history, admittedly, not all good, but there we are.   Some people have commented on the security fiasco with G4S, well what can you expect, problems do occur!  But it was sorted out in the end, and lets hope it goes without any further problems! After all, these games are supposed to be sponsoring harmony between nations?

  1. I didn't bother with the opening ceremonies, not my cup o' tea! I'm hoping that we get coverage of the equestrian events.

    1. Hi Shirley! True me too! Love the horsey events. I only threw that post in to see what others thought about these games.
      Kinda teasing i think!

  2. Ya that was fun with the queen, I didn't realize it was really her till they said it was. I think they spend a lot of money to get the olympics, with plans of making more money than they spent. I enjoy watching some events, horsey ones of course, but also swimming and gymnastics and athletics as well.

    1. Like you we think the money could have been spent elsewhere, we didn't watch the opening ceremony either. We cannot get enthusiastic about the games, although we will watch some events. I suppose it will bring money into the country.

    2. I think for me, its the sponsoring of these games. Big business has a strong hold on them. I mean, how is it that professional tennis players can play? I always thought it was supposed to be amateurs!!

  4. Are you trying to tell me she didn't actually jump out of the copter???? ;-)

What I really enjoyed was the lighting of the cauldron, and seeing Sir Paul. While he's aged quite a bit, and his makeup was a bit caked on, he did great for 70 years old! Such a legend. And everyone looked like they were having a blast! That's what it's about, isn't it?
