Mud!

I dont suppose anyone else is any better off?  Constant mud. Sounds like some ones name! Whatever it is, its been like this all year. I go on about it, but its so depressing!   Every bit of woodwork, has turned green! Mould and algae, even wood that has just been put up, has got algae on it!  Its getting so, that I`m frightened to stand still! I might get covered in algae!

  1. Story: "Nope, no mud here. Woke up to what looks like about 6" of snow, though. But seeing that mud, for once, I'll gladly take the snow!"

  2. Oh I hear you! We are just so fed up of mud, if we turn them out the mud flies everywhere and we spend hours grooming it off them and keep fingers crossed for no mud fever. If we keep them in they go stir crazy and then plough the fields when we let them out again. The worst year for mud I've ever known and it's not even winter yet. Please let us have a dry winter.... you have our sympathy....

  5. That's what we had last year. This past summer was the polar opposite with very little rain. Neither way is good SIGH

  6. I find myself green with envy looking at other peoples photos on FB, I saw photos of a foal arriving in Kent this week, now are you sitting down? There was dust and sodding cracks in their ground...!!! The last three years we've said "its got to be better next year" and its been worse, desperate for a good hard cold winter now.

I keep meaing to have a nosey back through your blog, do you still have the grey weanling (yearling?) that you bought cheap as chips from the sales, how did it turn out?

    1. Hi Laura! your right, it seems that the rain and wind funnels up and into the Solway, then drops the lot on Galloway!Or D&G, which ever. The foal got sold......he was sold to be a ride and drive for youngsters, he is up in Ayr I think.

  7. We finally got enough frost here to make the mud solid enough that I could get in with the tractor today and clean the mare pen, and flatten out all the rough areas.

  8. Bless your mud! We have had so little this year... it is still so dry and dusty, I have given up washing the car and just try to keep the windows where I can see out of them. I feel sorry for your horses, though... ugh.

    1. Hello Mary Ann!! Good to hear from you!....Yes I can empathize with you, its been a year of extremes across the world. Maybe we are seeing a shift in climatic conditions?

Then again, maybe its just Mother Nature letting us all know, that she is in charge!!
