Hi Marissa, the stuff in the feed is yellow flaked cooked Maize, the green is dried cooked Peas, the dark pieces are compressed veg protein, and the dried long brown grains are rolled cooked oats. Plus other minerals and vitamins. The oats are my addition. They thrive on a high protein feed in winter, I do not feed this in summer! Sends them loopy! The protein content runs at 18% which is high, but over here being very wet and windy most times, they need that extra.
Mmmmmm Mmmmmmm good. That does look good enough to eat :) I see you have mud. We have snow which I have chosen not to post on yet. Given the choice I have to say I would go with the snow......Did I really just say that!!!!!
Yes there is a satisfying sound, I stand with them, not to make sure they eat!! but more for the pleasure that comes from each lip movement and the sense of purpose they have in eating.
I think I have heard all that from my horses, must be universal talk around feed :)
ReplyDeleteWhat is that that is mixed into their grain? It looks like yellow and green leaves! I am very curious!
