The fine crisp air of winter, that snap, that inescapable feeling of cold. This was taken from where my horses are, a lovely place, wouldnt be anywhere else.
Of course this shot was taken in 2010, not today, but yes we have had our first snow. The horse rugs came off today for an hour or so, let the weak sunshine do some good. A brush down and back on!
On a more positive note!!! remember I posted a picture of this horse yesterday? Well he went today on a short loan, for a lady to try. The beautiful Red gelding, called Patrick.
Now as far as we know, he hasnt been ridden for some time, but was started properly, he is around 9 years, and about 16hh. Solid boy, and very steady. Today he loaded like a pro, and is really very gentle. Hopefully if things work out, he will have found a good permanent home, fingers crossed!
We have yet to see our first snow. I think I am dreading it. . .
ReplyDeleteIt is so strange to be December and 60 degrees F! For the Midwest this is unheard of, except for last year. Global warming anyone? Haha!
Hi Allison, yes ours is early too, but its here anyway.
Deletehi I'm a new reader! I love the lighting on the pictures of the horses...man does that red coat shine!
ReplyDeleteHi Marissa, and welcome to the blog! Good to have you along.
DeleteHooves crossed for Patrick! No snow here yet in Ohio, in the 60's today! Unheard of for sure.
ReplyDeleteWell yes, hooves crossed, he should be fine.
DeleteHope he works out. We have had snow for a while, sure makes life harder (and winter longer)
ReplyDeleteMe too, Patrick has a need for a one to one situation, and this lady so far, looks like the one! Patrick is a gentle soul, and lets hope the two of them gel!
