Back to Rain.

Well the snow has gone. The rain came back last night with a vengeance!  Gale force winds, driving rain saw off the deep snow in one night. However, we have the mud again.

There`s no getting away from it, thick gooey sticky mud, I know others out there will have it, and its always worse where you are, thats so true.  The forecast for tomorrow night is atrocious, heavy rain floods and strong winds again.  Today has been the pits, full of cold, coughing like a dog with asthma!  The sweat!! One minute hot, the next frozen!  So stuffed full of drugs, I managed to venture out into the wet and check the horses. They are looking fed up, from rolling in the snow yesterday, to standing in mud.

Poor things.

However, we did get a rainbow today in the few showers we had, in  fact there is two there! Not the best shot, but it was taken with the phone and fast.

Cant believe its almost the end of January, its gone fast, soon be summer?

  1. Mud BAH HUMBUG on it. We still have the snow but, not for much longer. I much prefer clean snow! Hope it's not the flu you have.

    1. Thats probably the best advice! Trouble is, I have like most folks, got to work. So I`m sure I`ll be better in a few days. Thanks for the thoughts.

  6. We had the sickness here also-but still great weather. See if the following helps you feel better.

This morning I noticed six people and two little dogs crowded under the same smallish umbrella. Amazingly not one of them was getting wet—then I noticed it wasn’t raining.

  7. Yuck. We have snow today, then in a few days it is supposed to be 50 degrees F, so I foresee lots of mud in the near future.

  9. At this point, mud is a dim memory here in Montana. I wish we could get some moisture to soak into the ground.

    1. Thats the problem, we are either drowned out, or dried out!
Been a year of real extremes across the planet.

  11. I'm sorry you're not well, I see the crud has jumped the pond. Is that Cushing's horse in the first shot, or just a fuzzy pony?

Are you sure you aren't building an ark on the back forty yet?

    1. No Ark yet! But getting quite a collection! That fuzzy pony is exactly that! Lol! He has a good winter coat, he come off the Mountains here, been a hardie breed.

  12. Horses (and other animals) always look a bit dejected when standing in mud. Can't say I blame them.

  14. That mud is amazing. Human went to a lecture about laminitis where the vet said everyone should dig up their grazing and just have mud paddocks and feed hay.
Very little mud in my paddock. Wee bit around the trough and by one of the gates is all.
