The Thaw Sets In!

jan 2013 snow 062

After some big snow, I woke up today, to find it on the melt. Lovely though it is, riding is an issue in this slippery stuff.  The horses were in fine fettle, and very hungry despite the new Hay bales put in the feeders yesterday.

Extra helpings were in order, so they got a little more Oats. They looked remarkably clean, amazing how snow does that. Temps were up to +3 this morning, so all in all, a really warm day! The forecast is for rain, as a warm front pushes in, we already have Flood warnings out for the South of the country!

Even Jacob was hungry, both ponies have good fat reserves, but Jacob is`nt so lucky, he`s just out for the day!

Already the thaw is working its Magic, so we`ll await the rain and more floods.

    1. Thats the thing, if we get too much of one thing, we get tired of it, but for us here, this snow has been a welcome change from rain, shame its coming back.
