Hair, Every Where!

Tons of the stuff! Never seen so much from this horse!  At it for nearly 2 hours, and its still coming off.

Still, it must have been keeping her warm.

Bad picture angle, anyhow, there is still more to come, and she looks a bit leaner!!  Got another to do, Sunny has a few more black spots this spring, mainly on her backside, and at the moment she is at the stables, for a feed and some work. Did well before the winter set in, but we havint done anything really since before Christmas. So now`s the time.

The weather has picked up, sun is shining, and the temp today reached a wonderful 15 deg C.

  5. I love seeing what new spots / colours you get each spring with appaloosas. Mine are varnish marked with about two spots between them so I get ridiculously excited if another spot appears!

    1. I`m laughing at that, it is a serious thing though, Sunny stated as a foal red and white, with a few Lacy markings on her rump. Then she went grey and red, followed by white, and one spot on her rump, now she has her whole rump covered in spots, and they are moving up towards her back!!

  6. Shedding is my least favorite part of spring. Even thin coated Lily seems to lose an entire Shetland pony...

    1. I do know what you mean!Lol. Its a whispy hairy, blow in your face and eyes kinda thing. Doesnt matter where you brush them, in or out, there is always a breath of air, that causes the hair to float into your face!!:)

    Tee He He!
We've Been On The Shedding Track For, Seems Like 2 Months Now....It'll Warm To 75 Degrees, Then Go Back Down To Freezing And Windy Rain.

I Think It'll Be A Blow Out Of Hair, Like Yours, This Week. My Weather App On The Phone Says,"Plenty Of Sunshine"!

Its So Interesting To See The Way A Horse's Coat Can Change.... Even Year To Year...Pantz, My Sisters Appy, Gets Several White And Black Spots In Different Areas, From Year To Year.
Then, There's The Mane Highlights...People Think We Do It On Purpose!

Looking Forward To" More Sunshine" With You, And Wanting To Ride Through Your" Between The Ear" Shots Too!

  8. The birds will be happy. My hair gets recyled as nest lining by the birds.

    1. Yes my lot too! The birds love it! We have each year at least two Wrens nests in the stables, they use tons of the stuff! All you can see is white and grey hair sticking out of the nests!!
