It All Over! …………..

Meet the last one`s!

003

Its been a very busy time, my OH has never been away from the farm, and now its just waiting to get them out into the fields. Its forecast for rain, and to warm up, maybe around 14 deg C? With a bit of luck!

So once again, another reasonable year.  So very shortly, I`ll be back posting proper?  Managed to book a short weeks holiday to Crete in Greece with the OH, looking forward to that in May.  Could do with some sunshine and some heat, maybe get rid of this cold thats hung around.

What else has happened? Well, apart from feed prices being hiked, fuel going through the roof, and general living becoming more expensive, nothing really!    Gracie and Sunny are fine, condition wise they`ve  done ok, both are shedding like mad fools, Jacob the Donkey? He`s ok too.

  1. Don't know how I've been missing your posts. Loved lambing season when I was a boy. How many live births were there this year?

    1. Hi Ron, yes we had a good season, even though the weather has been exceptionally cold for the time of year. With the late snows, neighboring farms have lost many sheep, in some cases hundreds. We were lucky as we decided to bring our sheep into the large barns, early on. We have had no grass for months, and that was why we brought them inside. That was a good move, and as a result we have had a good crop of lambs. Out of a predicted 179% crop from 500 Ewes, we got a final crop of 158%. Several mothers died due to Liver Fluke, which was after giving birth. The Fluke is a result of a very wet year.

    1. I sure will! I have been to Crete many times, wonderful Island. Although Greece itself is in financial turmoil, the major islands seem to be ok.
