Bye The Bye.

Well, its been almost three weeks since I got back from the Big Sky Country. I sure did enjoy it. But things have moved on, and for the better, Sunny is back with me, she has come on in leaps and bounds. Pictures soon!  She is needing a set of shoes on, but cant get the farrier `till next Monday!  So will have to content myself with  working in the “arena”!   (sheep sheds).

Sunny has been away, as some of you will remember. To date she has an excellent jog, easy to sit, and her walk has become more active.  All in all, she is developing into a good horse. She still likes to eat out of the bucket though!

Gracie`s wound has healed, although a big scar has remained, together with a pronounced lump. It doesnt affect her action at all.   What else? Oh yes, Jacob the Donkey has moved in with Ella the Clydesdale!  Apparently they were constantly grooming over the fence! So they are now together. Although I fail to see how a 3 foot Donkey can groom a 17hh + Clydesdale!!!  But there we go!

We have been sheep shearing this last two weeks, and the hay is down and almost ready to bale. Been a great week this past, temps in the high 70`s and into the 80`s F!  Still not got my camera fixed, so stuck with the Cell phone for now.  So thats about it really, Needing to get logging,  but havent had the time, where does it go?  There never seems to be enough hours in the day, in fact the weeks seem to blend into one another!  Before long it will be winter again!  Just one or two things, before I go, Google + is no longer on this blog, so to all those who followed on that, sorry.  But it was more trouble than it was worth.  And yes, I do post on Instagram, as “Hoddam6”. It was “Hoddam5”, but Google+ buggered that up to, dont ask why! but had to re set my cell which resulted in a host of problems. But all is well, that ends well! Catch you all later.

  1. gosh hard to believe you are doing hay and shearing sheep ...I'm sitting here on the computer looking out the window at a howling southerly ....side ways rain and the fact that half an hour away it is snowing. In fact half of the North Island is under snow. It doesn't make for much enthusiasm to do anything. Glad Sunny is proving to be nice horse and what a bummer that Gracie will have a scar .....go put a cold beer in the fridge for after that hay!

  2. YAY! Glad you got rid of Google +- I didn't want to sign up with it, so I couldn't leave comments. I really enjoyed your series of posts about your ranch vacation, looks like it will be a treasured memory for the rest of your days. Nice that you got good weather for haying, and that Sunny is back home.
