A Ride in The Clouds.

“On the summit!”

Onwards and upwards, as they say, we found our horses heading towards Burnswark, the old Roman Fort. Couple of hours riding in September coolness.

Fantastic ride, met up with two other riders on the way, Laura and Fiona. on the right of the picture, they live in the white house situated in the clump of trees between the grey horse and the bowing bay!   Good company. Windy and a damn site cooler on the top!  The Solway Firth lies to the top left of the picture, and the hill in the background id Criffel.  Beyond that?  The Isle of Man.

  2. How lovely. We live in a beautiful area and it must be great to get out and enjoy it on horseback.

    1. Yeah, once the cool air comes in at the end of september, its time for warm vest, under the shirt! Good luck with the ride!

  6. Hi there Cowboy!
Loved following you all summer in the "INSTAGRAM"...It was about my speed for communications all summer...posting from atop my mare, as I rode about the country.

LOVE*** that view and the names of far off in the distance places...I have a coin, in necklace form, from the Isle of Man. it is the 1984 Equestrian Olympics coin they made that year....Love to wear it, with its Statium JUMPER on one side.

Yes, yes...the glory of summer sun and heat are replaced these days. Autumn hit us Yesterday with high winds, power outages and torrents of rains. I fortunately got in a ride for a few hours...though fiercely windy, it was warm. Got in 10 minutes B4 the rains hit...the crickets warned me to be on my way home...they stopped chirping!

I adore all your riding partners... bundle up you, keep on riding, and posting the views!!!

  8. That looks like a lovely place for a ride. I found it interesting when I scrolled down, we are a world apart and yet we are having pretty much the exact same weather.
