No Riding Today!

Well. the storm hit late last night. Not as bad as first thought, but still 60  mph winds and heavy rain, I suspect its the first of many.

rain from roof

Fortunately, I am cosy inside the cottage today!  The further north into Scotland you go, the worse the weather, anyway, not a lot to say, pleased I rugged the horses last night, as there is no field shelter. Plenty of high hedge rows for them to get behind. Its quite sad that summer and autumn have been and gone, been a good one here, done some good riding, and although injured this year, Gracie has been fine! (Think she enjoyed the lay off!)  The farrier comes on Tuesday, Dentist on Thursday, full week, still has to be done. I suspect the riding will be off for a few days, maybe get out by the weekend. As long as its not as bad as this!

Bobby and the rain

See ya!

  1. Rain, rain, go to Spain! Why not build field shelters?

    1. To be honest, their field is on an east facing hill, surrounded by high hedgerows and trees, it drains well, and although muddy on the top of the hill, there is no real place to build shelters without substantial cost, and, ..........we need planning permissions here to do that. A long and costly process.
