Looking Back.

If there is one thing that is constant in life, it is the hills. Always there, those scalloped edges of green.

003

The hill in the photograph, is called Blencathra, recently put up for sale by Lord Lonsdale. Of course anyone can roam across countryside here, as long as one does`nt damage crops. A great riding area, most people give this place a miss, mainly due to it not being in the centre of the Lake District. But that is why I love it, lonely and still has a wild feel.

001

Its a long climb upwards, but using the old Lead miners track helps. Nearly all semblance of industry has gone, maybe the odd ruin, or metal derrick.

005

A short graze for the horses, on old hill grass,  listen to the Skylarks and then a slow ride back to the  trailer for a mug of tea.

004

A last look back.

    1. It is, but as it will not impact on the regular walkers et al, it really is a matter of none interest.

    1. Yeah, its really cool, its one of our National Parks. Anyone can go anywhere on the land. Its a working area, lived in and very much in use for Agriculture and tourism. But carefully managed.
