Well this is a follow on as promised re the Trec ride to day. In all things there are problems, but I have to ask, why me?
Finished work at 6am, got home for half past. Loaded Jeep, loaded trailer with hay and water.
Went for horse……………………………….Saw horse in field, I stop and with halter call her, she responds. Canters across field, and as the gets closer I am able to see that one of her shoes has been sprung! F*** Me!! Getting closer still, and off it comes, lands in mud right at my feet. Complete with piece of hoof wall!!! F*** Me!!!!
It is now 7am, what to do? No shoes on the other horse, he is also covered in muck. Other horse too young. Other horse only 10 hh`s!
Brain in meltdown! Depression setting in! Throws halter to the floor! Stamps foot! Swears aloud, and F`s and blinds like a trooper.
Finally in complete frustration…………………he screams …….AAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! Why me!!!!!!!
Maybe it's just a bad dream...you'll wake up soon...
ReplyDeleteBe happy to trade places with you. I've got five days of paper grading ahead of me.
Ah.... I am sooo sorry. I know how much WE ALL look forward to spring (or pre-spring) rides. Sure you couldn't have made that 10hh pony work! :) :)
ReplyDeleteOh rats! I hate it when that happens! Oh well, maybe there was a good reason you didn't get to go.
ReplyDeleteTime to saddle up the spaniel. ;)

I have stopped ranting today, my Oh has calmed the frustration(!) So I `m reasonable.
So frustrating, that's horse for you! There's always next time while the horse is still fit and well, a shoe is easily sorted.
