Well I couldnt resist!! I mean c`mon! Look at him.
A bit “ribby”? True, but there is potential. Charlie is 6 months old, not sure what breed…………(57 varieties?) But, he handles very well, is real easy to be about. Halter broke, stands tied, and will make just under 15hh.
A quick learner, already since I got him last Saturday (22nd Oct) he lifts his legs, you can brush him all over, and handle all of his body! So to be honest, I think I could be onto a steady horse in a few years.
The horse sale prices here in the Uk, are pretty crappy, this little fella? £45 guineas! Around ($ 73 dollars). Even 3 year olds, made only a few hundred pounds. Its a sad fact that the economic downturn, has been bad for horses.
But this little chap? Well he`s here now.
What a nice purchase. There are some serious horse people around me with all the Amish, so that would be a bargain. I will post a baby coming up, a Belgium.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to reading it!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet eye he has. He will be a beauty with TLC!
ReplyDeleteHe's adorable...you're a softy ;~) You'll have him fit in no time!! Congrats on your new Charlie!
ReplyDeleteI like the back pair of socks.
ReplyDeleteLucky boy he'll love his new home. Sorry about the spammers, don't know why people take delight in ruining things for others.
ReplyDeleteCharlie sure lucked out finding a home with you! I look forward to future posts about his development. What does Gracie think?
ReplyDeleteI think you are right Margaret!
ReplyDeleteGtyyup, Thanks, but dont tell everyone, it`ll ruin my street cred!
hi Ron, the socks were one of the reasons I liked him. God knows why?
Hi Shirley, too true, I`m sick of it. Charlie was a bit excitable today, as I let him out on the hard standing, he decided to roll on the concrete!
Hi Annette, he`ll be fine here. I must be losing the plot! 7 horses now!! Oh! and one donkey!
Awww he is so cute. He just has a very "lost" look about him but that will pass when he gets himself settled I have no doubt.
ReplyDeleteoh bless. He is so cute. Good luck to you both I am sure you will have lots of happy stories to tell in the future.
ReplyDeleteHi Ann!.....Thanks for dropping by, he`ll be fine.
ReplyDeleteIt is really wonderful that you found a horse without all the fancy breeding, it says a bunch about your fine character. I am sure there are many gems like him all over, good for you! I look forward to hearing many stories about him.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mary, for me its not really the breeding, its about a leg at each corner, being healthy, good eye, and a good temperament.
ReplyDeleteHey there! I updated the pie post to include a link to the recipe I use. It's my current favorite pie recipe...
