“Tattie and Leek Soup!”

Today has been cold. Not as cold as Nebraska, or Wyoming! However, here it tends to be wet and cold, miserable would be a good description!
So after I`d finished work tonight, I came home to a welcoming pan of the very same nourishment!
Two or three bowls of this stuff, and even Capt Scott would have been warmed up!  The original consists of Potatoes, carrots and the wonderful peppery Leek! (Leeks)  I like the green and white things,  a “common food?”  Not in my book!   All that shoved in a large pot, water to cover, Oh I should mention, all the veg was peeled and chopped!  Two onions, and salt and a little butter!  Cooked gently until soft and leave to cool, check the seasoning, and taste!  My OH does a really good one.  Anyway, its cold and fine tonight, the stove is full of logs and I feel warm at last.        Good night!

  1. Leeks are wonderful in soup! I can just taste it -- ask your OH to save me a bowl.

  5. One year I planted 1000 leeks having found them at a good price. Too many for me for a year, I tried every recipe.

  8. That sounds tasty and you've conjured up the image of you sitting near the warm fire with your bowl.
