The Daily Grind.

Been too busy to take photographs, or blog. Too tired to do much. Anyway, got some concreting done today, started at 8am with the OH, got the mixer going, and got part of the job done. The sun was out today, and has been for a few days, temps in the 40-50F, frosts at night. But really good drying weather. Fields are really drying out. Horses appreciate the weather change.

Cut and split two trailer loads of Oak wood for next year. Pretty dry stuff, about one and a half tons. Enough for a good start!! So all this is why my back is breaking, and my hips are playing up!  But having had a good hot shower, gotten the sawdust out of my ears etc!  I`ll more than likely have a beer or two later on.  Never used to feel hard work, but now it seems to catch me out!  That wretched cold has almost gone, and thanks everyone for your kind wishes, but I seem to be left with a lot of gunk!

I have been trying to catch up on your blogs, cant find the time this week, got the Farrier tomorrow, more wood to split, (must invest in an auto log splitter), more concrete to lay, and that should be it for the weekend, back to work on Sunday. Next week, got Tarmac (asphalt) to lay!!  Couple or three tons! The OH can do that! Lol.

Forgot to mention, the Stihl was going great, cutting like a dream, until it kicked back! Wow! was I pleased I was wearing my visor and helmet!  Have to get a new one now! You gotta watch those saws. Anyway, I`ve got loads to do, I`ll catch up when I can, be good, and stay out of trouble!

  1. Stupid blogger ate the comment I just tried to post. Grrrr!
    Anyway- good weather- check.
    Happier horses- check.
Firewood - check. Visor and helmet keeping you from cutting your head off- priceless! (That's why I won't run a chain saw- I probably would cut my head off. )

    Stay well :-)

  5. Jason is loyal to Stihl as well, he won't buy any other brand for a chainsaw. Your daily grind sounds exhausting, that is a lot of hard work!
