Bulletin

I never knew, I really never knew, just how tiring it was to visit someone, who is in hospital, and then care for them at home, draining, really draining.
Although it has only been 3 weeks, it is begining to take its toll on me. I have been most places, served in some of the worst places in the world. But this is new to me, a big respect to all those who suffer in silence and care for all those, unlucky enough to have debilitating illnesses, requiring hospitalisation. I am writing this, while at home. My lady is tired and suffering from a heart malfunction. But her words not mine are these, " There are those far worse off than me, some have no luck, and may never see another day, the chances are, I will."

She is a tough old bird, I have found a big respect for the unsung heroes, the carers! I dont want to push this, but I have to say it. We dont give them enough credit.

  1. Her words are beautiful.

My oldest son fell from the hayloft when he was in 5th grade. Broke his femur & had to be hospitalized in traction for 24 days. If someone told me I needed to make arrangements for SOMEONE (me, husband, mom, inlaws, etc.) to be at the hospital 24/7 for the next 24 days, I would have said "not possible". Amazing what we can do when we HAVE to do it. From the hospital, he came home in a body cast. Another big challenge. Not saying it is our calling or a spiritual undertaking. Family just takes care of each other no matter the cost.

Hang in there. Blog when you can. We enjoy hearing from you - even when the times are tough. Thinking of you both.

  3. I know exactly what you mean, as my daughter had cancer as a teenager. She was home educated at the time, which did make life easier, but when she had her entire leg in a cast after a biopsy, simple things like washing her hair or going shopping became extremely complex, so I know what you're going through.
