I fell off today!………..I am sorry to say, it was my own fault. It could not have been in a worse place too. Hard concrete! All 15 stone of me, flat out on my back, looking for all the world like a beached whale! The wind knocked completely out of my aching and somewhat tight chest. As I stared up at the passing grey clouds, it occurred to me that I should take more care! make sure my feet are secure, that my balance is good, and my hold is correct! Perhaps I should even wear a helmet?
I know I should! But I do feel such a dork, I mean the only safety helmet I have is Rainbow coloured! Anyway, as I continued to check my limbs for cracks and breakages, my wife appeared!
“ ladder slip then?”……………….”Yeah, those lights are in an awkward place!”
So wear a helmet to change light bulbs?
ReplyDeleteI say- why not? ;^) It's better than whacking the ol' noggin!
Hope you're not too sore - very scary!
ReplyDeleteat least the ladder did not run off and leave you laying there. ;-)
ReplyDeleteGlad you are OK.
OUCH
Ouch!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a good tour guide when you come to Montana; there's a lot to see. You'll have to look us up if you get a chance.
Yep those ladders'll get you every time. Broke my wrist a few years ago getting bucked off a ladder.
ReplyDeletewith age those falls get tougher and tougher. I am sure you know to get back on and hold no grudges
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that you weren't seriously hurt! They are making helmets now that have a trail look (Troxel) and are manly enough for Brett even.
ReplyDeleteHahaha, at least the ladder didn't buck you off.
ReplyDeleteYou need to sort out your groundwork before getting on Cheyenne!

ReplyDeleteHA!!! And they say horses are dangerous! Glad you're OK...and you mounted back up!
ReplyDeleteNow you know how many of you it takes to change a light bulb...
ReplyDeleteAll seriousness aside, I'm glad you didn't break anything. I would have for sure.
Its been a learning curve for me! The ladder has been sent for advanced groundwork training!
ReplyDeleteToo funny, glad it wasnt too serious
ReplyDeleteGlad you appreciated it! x
ReplyDeleteOddly, I'm more afraid of climbing a ladder, than riding a horse. Makes perfect sense to me!!! I do wear a helmet when riding, perhaps I will when changing lightbulbs now as well :)
ReplyDeleteThrown by a ladder. You'll never live it down. I ain't laughing. Truly I ain't. Well maybe a little. Thanks Cheyenne.
