Update.

002

Today the wind direction changed.  Reminded me of “Mary Poppins”, the scene where the Admiral on the roof top, with his telescope says out loud, “The wind has changed! There is a storm brewing!”  or words to that effect!  But today it has sprung up from the West, a more connubial direction. bringing with it some much needed  sunshine and perhaps a little rain? Our grass needs it, parched from that East wind. its been burned to nothing.  Anyway, lambs are dropping like flies, single, twins, triplets! All doing very well.  The forecast is for some showers by Tuesday, then back to sunshine.  The feel is more like spring now, with the days getting longer, and mother nature causing stirrings in the birds! We did have a sharp frost last night –6C here, but the day has dawned with hope anew!  As I write this missive, I cant help but wonder at what is happening in the far flung corners of Asia. Still, its not for me to make those decisions, I`m sure there are other more intelligent people to do that.

  1. "IT'S a warm wind, the west wind, full of birds' cries;
    I never hear the west wind but tears are in my eyes.
    For it comes from the west lands, the old brown hills.
    And April's in the west wind, and daffodils."

    Love the John Masefield poem, I often think of it in the spring. Glad all the lambs are doing well.

  3. Hard to believe you saying it is dry! What cute little lambs, so nice when they are all on the ground though.

    1. The lambs are doing fine now, but we are going to need some rain shortly, as that East wind has literally dried everything up! Snow has almost gone, the temperature is begining to reack 10C. Roll on summer!

  4. Howdy Cheyenne. It's been a while... I'm glad to see you're well and keeping busy. If you see a pretty little thing in a green dress over at my place, don't go getting any ideas. It's me.
